Digital Illusions Creative Entertainment has provided a few more looks at some of the main characters in the campaign mode of the upcoming multiplatform title, “Battlefield 4.” As reported by BF4 Central on Aug. 1, the new renders feature Hanna, Irish and Pac as well as a Chinese soldier wearing a gas mask.
Hanna, also known as Huang Shuyi, first appeared in the teaser images and small snippets from trailers. Her role in the story is not yet known although she was seen asking the player to back her up during a firefight from a previous video. Irish, who is being played by Michael K. Williams, is the sergeant of your squad. Finally, Pac is described previously as a “Marine Combat Lifesaver.”
Digital Illusions Creative Entertainment promised to improve upon the campaign mode in “Battlefield 4” after an underwhelming effort in “Battlefield 3.” As a result, they are planning to make the story more character-driven, perhaps adding some depth to the aforesaid Hanna, Irish and Pac. The studio is also making the single-player campaign feel similar to the multiplayer mode with bigger maps and adding more non-linear elements.
“Battlefield 4” is expected to ship first for the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 on Oct. 29, followed by a release for the PS4 and Xbox One later this year. You can take a look at the character renders, along with screenshots of the first-person shooter, in the slideshow at the top of this article.
