Activision’s Call of Duty franchise is one of the best-selling series of the current generation and the company is looking to make sure the trend continues during the PS4, Xbox One, and Wii U generation of home consoles. Though Call of Duty: Ghosts will be released on Nov. 5, it appears that Activision may already be well underway with a new Call of Duty: Modern Warfare title for 2014, according to a report on July 17.
According to a report by Kotaku, Sledgehammer Games may currently being working in a new entry to the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare line of titles. With Activision’s pattern of releasing a new entry each year, it is possible that Sledgehammer is making the title for the 2014 holiday season.
In a story suggests that an FX artist of Sledgehammer games has revealed -- via LinkedIn -- that he is working on “the next Call of Duty – Modern Warfare release.” The profile continues to share that he is responsible for developing “photo real visual effects” for the title.
A new Call of Duty title for 2014 should come as no surprise to anyone, however, this information should be considered a rumor until Activision officially announces a new Modern Warfare title.
